My grandparents, Josephine Mary Bourson and Seward Fus Roberts, were married April 3, 1907, at high noon in the apple orchard of her parents. My grandma was 7 years old when her family moved from the Indian reservation to the homestead in Watson, now called Tecumseh.
My grandpa's parents' homestead was directly across the road. They fell in love and married. How romantic.
My great-great-grandpa was a territorial judge and minister. He married them. They lived with my grandpa's parents and moved to the adjoining homestead, their first own home, in 1922. I reside on that farm.
I remember my grandma telling me the apple trees were in full bloom and beautiful. How romantic. I have the original invitation and paper article. I have her wedding dress. The flowers after you were married were turned down.
